A multinational electronics manufacturer Manufacturing & Supply Chain
Blockchain Supply Chain Solution
Implementing a transparent, tamper-evident tracking system for a global manufacturer.
The problem.
A multinational electronics manufacturer with operations across many countries was struggling with supply chain transparency and traceability. They had trouble verifying component authenticity, tracking products through complex distribution networks, and providing verifiable proof of ethical sourcing to consumers and regulators. Their existing systems were siloed, creating data inconsistencies and making it hard to trace the source of quality issues. They needed end-to-end visibility across their supply chain with strong guarantees around data integrity.
The approach.
Distributed ledger architecture
We implemented a permissioned blockchain network using Hyperledger Fabric that connects suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and regulatory bodies.
IoT sensor integration
The system integrates with IoT sensors that record critical data points such as location, temperature, humidity, and handling conditions throughout the product journey.
Smart contract automation
We developed smart contracts that automate compliance verification, quality control, and payment releases based on predefined conditions and milestone completion.
Digital product passports
Each product receives a unique digital identity on the ledger that records its history from component sourcing through manufacturing and distribution.
Stakeholder interfaces
We built tailored interfaces for each stakeholder, including a supplier portal, manufacturer dashboard, logistics tracking, and a consumer-facing app for product verification.
Analytics and reporting
The solution includes analytics that identify bottlenecks, anticipate potential disruptions, and provide actionable insight for supply chain optimization.
The outcome.
- Stakeholders gained end-to-end visibility across the supply chain, with a tamper-evident record that made component authenticity and ethical sourcing verifiable.
- Replacing siloed systems with a shared ledger removed the data inconsistencies that had made quality issues hard to trace to their source.
